GOOGLE ANALYTICS 4 (GA4) MIGRATION

Google Analytics 4 is here, and website owners have been given a deadline date of 1 July 2023 to migrate from Universal Analytics.

Migrate with confidence with my fixed price service.

What’s happening with Google Analytics?

If you’re using Google Analytics currently, you’re probably using Universal Analytics. Google has announced that on 1 July 2023, Universal Analytics will stop collecting data. No need to panic - you just need to migrate to Google Analytics 4.

Google Analytics 4 works differently and requires a more in-depth set up. I’ve carried out multiple GA4 migrations so far, so know exactly what I’m doing and how to get you the most accurate data in your new analytics tool. After all - you don’t want to be working with the wrong information, do you?

What’s the migration process?

  1. I’ll implement GA4 for your website, so that it starts collecting data. Ideally, this will be done ASAP so that we can collect as much data in GA4 before the sunset.

  2. Your GA4 account will be set up and customised to your business.

  3. The quality of your data will be checked by comparing reports between GA4 and Universal Analytics.

  4. I’ll create a retention plan for your historic data in GA3 where possible. Google has indicated this will be removed by December 2023.

  5. I’ll provide a bespoke onboarding guide for GA4. Optional training sessions can be quoted and booked at this stage.

What’s included?

  • Initial meeting to discuss your usage of Google Analytics

  • Detailed migration plan shared with you so you can follow the migration process

  • Configuration of your data stream

  • Setting up events and conversions

  • Report into quality of data in GA3 & GA4

  • Bespoke handover guide to your new GA4 account

The fixed price quote is valid for websites which already have Google Analytics (Universal Analytics) and Google Tag Manager set up and collecting data. This offer is subject to an initial review of your Google Analytics to ensure it fits within the scope of a reasonable migration project.

Additional work like: 1:1 training sessions, investigating data loss or discrepancies, connecting to Google Ads, backing up historical data can all be added to your migration plan at an additional cost. These will be quoted on a website-by-website basis once we’ve reviewed your Google Analytics set up. At this point I will let you know if there is work outside of the fixed price quote.

I introduced Briony to a client of mine to set up a new GA4 account in 2022. GA4 is a such a headache to understand and implement but Briony made the whole process so much easier. Everything was clearly communicated and we now have a fully functioning account with conversion tracking. Highly recommend if you need GA4 setting up for your business.
